Post Time, the only off-track betting site in Colorado Springs, recently moved to 2419 N. Union Blvd. inside the restaurant Peak 31 at Union Station.

But this weekend - Friday, Saturday and Sunday - is earmarked as its grand reopening. There's a reason for that.

The inaugural Pegasus World Cup, the richest single horse race in the world, will debut Saturday at Gulfstream Park in Florida.

Plus, it's the second round of pre-wagering for the Kentucky Derby, where bettors can bet on Kentucky Derby winners months before the 3-year-old horses step onto the famed dirt at Churchill Downs.

Fantasy Sports wagering adds basketball, hockey

Fantasy Sports pari-mutuel wagering, legal in Colorado, has added professional basketball and professional hockey to its lineup of sports to bet on.

In October of last year, Colorado became the second state in the country (Nevada was the first) to approve pari-mutuel sports wagering on football. Bettors could wager on different football players to score the most points in various pools.

Now, bettors can do the same thing with NHL and NBA players.

Post Time, which now operates inside the restaurant Peak 31 at Union Station, is the only off-track betting site in Colorado Springs where bettors can wager on fantasy sports.

Pari-mutuel wagering is what's used in horse betting.

Other professional sports are expected to be added over the coming months, according to Donny Talton, the owner/operator of Post Time.
